Lot 176 Artillery Drivers Saddle

Quilted padded seat with black leather skirt and flaps. Made by good maker Grimsley, an cartouche showing St. Louis Missouri #1317. Very good plus overall condition with period accessories as pictured. From a premier southern California civil war collector, who paid in 2013 over 2000$ at LJ's. The artillery driver's saddles are arguably one the most attractive saddles of the Civil War era. They are rare and this is one of the best specimens we have seen.
